In 2000, Mrs.
Fields Famous Brands acquired TCBY, adding it to their growing portfolio
of franchise concepts. TCBY's well-established brand name, loyal customers
and expanding trade base made the organization a perfect addition to the
Mrs. Fields Famous Brands family. By becoming a TCBY franchisee, you will
belong to part of a
4,000-location strong franchise system.
TCBY has been a frozen treats product innovator from the day its first
shop opened in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1981. The great-tasting, low-fat
frozen yogurt concept received an enthusiastic response from an increasingly
health-conscious public. Its trendy new product propelled the company
to the forefront of franchising, and was the first in a long line of ground-breaking
menu items that anticipated consumer preferences and continually refreshed
the TCBY concept.
But TCBY products are just one of the reasons that thousands of operators
have
concluded that a TCBY franchise is the preferred opportunity in branded
frozen treats, and a dynamic partner in any co-branded concept. In 2000,
TCBY stores adopted a new look- T2000 - the new design included bright
new colors that reflect the concept's coming of age.

As a high school
student working at a local pizza pub in Jeffersonville, Indiana, Papa
John's founder John Schnatter realized that there was something missing
from national pizza chains: a superior-quality traditional pizza delivered
to the customer's door. His dream was to one day open a pizza restaurant
that would fill that void.
In 1984, "Papa"
John Schnatter knocked out a broom closet located in the back of his father's
tavern (Mick's Lounge), sold his prized 1972 Z28 Camaro, purchased $1,600
worth of used restaurant equipment, and began selling his pizzas to the
tavern's customers. The customers loved the pizza so much that John was
able to expand by moving into adjoining space, eventually leading to the
opening of the first Papa John's restaurant in 1985.
Today, Papa John's
boasts nearly 3000 restaurants in 49 states and 15 international markets.
Papa John's also owns or franchises 100+ Perfect Pizza restaurants in
the United Kingdom.
More importantly,
Papa John's remains committed to its heritage of making a superior-quality,
traditional pizza.

Our founders,
Donald and Susan Sutherland, have a passion for ice cream! They searched
everywhere for ice cream that was “smooth and creamy”, rather
than the traditional hard-packed or soft-serve varieties. In 1988, after
coming up empty in their search, they opened the first Cold Stone Creamery®
in Tempe, Arizona. Using only the finest ingredients, the Sutherlands
produced the highest quality ice cream available…making it fresh
each day in their store. Every ice cream creation was then made to order
for each customer by blending in mix-ins on a frozen granite stone (the
Cold Stone!), and served in a fresh-baked waffle cone. Word soon spread
far and wide among ice cream lovers that Cold Stone Creamery’s ice
cream was the best, and the revolution began! In 1995, the first franchise
store opened in Tucson, Arizona, followed by the first out-of-state store
in Camarillo, California.

Like most innovative
concepts, the McAlister’s Deli chain began as the simple idea of
a restaurant novice. Our founder was a dentist who happened to have a
passion for restaurants with fast, personal service and great food. He
spent years tracking winners and losers, learning from both, watching
for his chance to enter the game with something different.
Joined by his sons,
our founder developed McAlister’s unique combination of hearty-sized
deli fare, served quickly with a side of Southern charm. So, in 1989,
he opened the original McAlister’s Deli restaurant in a converted
gas station in Oxford, Mississippi. The response from customers was overwhelming
and, as one might expect. There were many requests for franchises.
By 1995, McAlister’s
Corporation was recognized by INC. Magazine as one of America’s
fastest-growing, privately-owned companies. Its strength as a leading
concept in "quick casual" category was noted by industry-leading
publications. Attracted by McAlister’s potential, veteran chain
operator Phil Friedman became president in 1999. Today, his experience
and leadership complements the founder’s product expertise and vision,
fueling the growth of the McAlister’s chain as one of the nation’s
top franchise opportunities. It’s still about pride. It’s
still about persistence. And more then ever, it’s about potential.
